Decided to fix up a more modern bike this week. Frame is aluminium (weight saving) but still has nice steel Van Schothorst rims (anti-weight saving, however the most durable rims and beautiful rims we work with).
NO COASTER BRAKE!?
Not everyone likes coaster brakes, I get it... This bike has what I think is it's original set up, Shimano 3-speed rollerbrake rear wheel, the twist is you get a Sturmey archer front drum brake. Pretty fun to mix systems, or maybe it was post production however I do not feel like looking it up..
Got a nice makeover, new 700x47 Schwalbe Road Cruiser tires, new chain, new handlebar and shifter. New union classic pedals, new seatpost with a new selle san remo saddle. Front and rear battery lights (remind me to install 2 double AA's in the rear taillight).
Has a nice little aluminium rear rack for attaching a kids seat or panniers.
Nice bike for the right person. I',m 5'5", 28" inseam and it fits pretty good, It would fit people with longer legs aswell, the seatpost and stem still have plenty room for adjustment. 53cm frame!
