New 2025
We've had a whole case of Shimano CB-E110D coaster hubs sitting around for years from bikes that couldn't be saved. Many ended up getting cannabalized to repair otherwise functioning hubs in bikes headed out, or already in the world. But we still have bins and bins of these things. So we've started overhauling them, and building them into new sturdy wheels.
Specs:
Hub: Shimano CB-E110D Coaster Hub, taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned, and reassembled with high performance grease, new bearings, and new clutches, cones, pads where applicable. Comes stock with a 19T sprocket; please specify if you want another tooth count.
Spokes: Sapim Strong 13/14G stainless single butted spokes. All of our utility specification wheels are built with these spokes. They're stainless so they won't rust, and they have more meat where they need it, and where most spokes break, thanks to the 13G butt at the head and curve where the spoke exits the hub.
Nipples: Sapim nickel plated brass.
Rim: Alex DM18 or Sun CR18. Great economical double wall, box section alloy rims. Relatively light, and strong!
