Winter Equipment Rental Info
Ready to winter? You've got options!
Get skis (and more) at the Bicycle Garden, 267 Sherbrook.
When you rent skis from us, you are supporting Winnipeg Trails' social enterprise and all of the cool programming we do - like free mobile librairies at parks and community centres around the city.
All ski rentals are by pay-what-you-can by donation with a suggested $20 a day for an adult set. Yes, we have kids skis too. All skis have been donated by generous Winnipeggers. Our staff lovingly care for them and make them available for you! We have both waxless and waxable skis, depending on your preference. Binding types vary. All of it is fun.
You can get skis by:
- emailing us at email@example.com
- visiting us at the Bicycle Garden at 267 Sherbrook Wed-Sat noon-6pm
- calling us at 204-306-4737 during business hours
We're happy to help you on your next adventure!
Skis are usually available same day, but if you are planning a trip, or have a large group, its always a good idea to talk to us early. If you choose to email us, please indicate your start and end date, and the boot sizes. We'll reply to confirm and arrange the pickup time.
Note: Bicycle Garden is open to the public for ski pickup and drop-off from Wed-Sat 12-6 pm. You can pickup/return them on those days. Many people choose to rent skis for the weekend, but don't worry about extra charges for days when we were closed. Just hang on to them and bring them when we open again.
Renting kicksleds or snowshoes. We do that too. Contact us. See above. Standard affordable rates apply.
Find us at the Forks on weekends. While our train car location shop is closed for renos for most of the winter, we'll be on the Nestawaya River Trail again this year! Skis and bikes can also be rented by donation to explore the trail. Try it, its magical.
New this year: we are offering skiing and skating lessons on weekends courtesy the Forks. Lessons are aimed at anyone new to skating or skiing. Come Try Winter with us. See Winterpeg.org to sign up. Limited spots available.
*New* Find us at Assiniboine Park. This year, in partnership with Assiniboine Park conservancy, we are also making skis available for rent (by donation) out of a "Zoogipon" our new ski shack located next to the Duck Pond, where the family can skate and you can rent skis to enjoy the many trails in the park.
Big thanks to Holz Construction for the shack donation!
